Our list

The following are JKF’s broad lists:

1.The pre-primary list

The list includes materials meant for the pre-primary level, that is, kindergarten, pre-unit and nursery. The objective is to strengthen the Primary school List. The books and materials in this list cover broadly language skills, numeracy, creative and craft skills, handwriting and social skills. The materials for this level are designed to equip children with skills required at lower primary school.

2.The Primary School textbook list

Broadly, this refers to all those books developed as textbooks for the primary school market.

3.The Primary School Readers list

This has two main areas: those written in Kiswahili (Adili Readers) and those written in English (Pyramid Readers). The readers are designed to develop good language skills and positive values amongst the children in primary schools, at both lower and upper primary levels.

4. Wall Charts and Visual Aids

Charts and other visual aids are designed to support the school textbooks.

5. The KCPE Revision List

The Revision books are designed to ease revision for the KCPE examination. They also include workbooks.

6.The Secondary School Textbook List

The books in this list are designed to be used as textbooks in secondary schools.

7.The KCSE Revision List

The books are designed to ease revision for the ordinary level education level examination, for example, the KCSE. Workbooks are also included in this category.

8.Adult Fiction

The books in this series are literary works designed to be used as class readers or set books in secondary schools, colleges and for general reading. They include fiction both in English and Kiswahili.

9.Tertiary and Reference Books List

The books in the list are designed to:

• support the regular classroom text in primary and secondary schools
• support specific courses at teacher training colleges and tertiary institutions.

Preference is given to those books that support the regular classroom text on the primary or secondary lists.
