Library Of the Year Award (LOYA) 2010

The Kenya Library Association (KLA), the Goethe-Institute and The Jomo Kenyatta Foundation invited all libraries in Kenya to express interest in participating in the inaugural Library Of the Year Award (LOYA) that was awarded in September 2010. |

The 2010 LOYA award was awarded to United State International University.
The award aims to recognize excellence in the provision of library and information services in thecountry. Interested libraries were requested to submit their profiles, clearly indicating the unique features that make them qualify for the Award by outlining the following: |

| |
- Policies and procedures
- Staff deployment and re-training
- Currency and relevance of their information materials
- Innovation and creativity in service provision
- Efforts towards collection, preservation and dissemination of local content
- Networking and any other value addition exercise the library is engaged in.
The following categories were eligible to participate: School, Special / Research / Corporate, Public / Community, Government and Academic. |
