Fiction lovers have a reason to smile courtesy of the vast array of novels and storybooks on offer. These are both in English and Kiswahili (Fasihi Yetu), and are written to cater for all categories of readers. What’s more, a number of them have won literary awards. These include: Paradiso by John Habwe—1st prize in the inaugural Wahome Mutahi Literary Award (2006); Migogoro by Mwenda Mbatiah—2nd prize in the Jomo Kenyatta Literary Award For Literature, Youth Fiction Category (2007); and Dago wa Munje by Sheilla Ali Ryanga—1st prize in the Jomo Kenyatta Literary Award For Literature, Youth Fiction Category (2009). |
