| Nairobi International Book Fair 2009 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Jomo Kenyatta Foundation participated in the 12 th edition of the Nairobi International Book Fair that was held between September 23rd and 27th 2009 at the Sarit Centre, Nairobi. The Book Fair brings together publishers, booksellers, printers and other stakeholders in the book industry. Participants were drawn from all over the world. The Foundation displayed its publications that were sold at a discount. The public was also informed about the JKF Scholarship Programme. The Book Fair culminated in the Jomo Kenyatta Prize for Literature award. Two of our authors were among the winners, as follows: > Sheilla Ali Ryanga won the first prize in the Kiswahili Youth Fiction Category for the book, “Dago wa Munje”. > Mwenda Mbatia won the second prize in the Kiswahili Adults Fiction Category for the book “Vipanya vya Maabara”. We congratulate the authors and all those who contributed towards the publication of these award-winning titles. |

| Nairobi International Trade Fair 2009 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Nairobi International Trade Fair is an annual event. This year it was held between 29th September 2009 and 4th October 2009 at the Jamhuri Park Showground. The Trade Fair brings industry players from the region and the rest of the world to showcase their products. The Government, through its ministries and departments, takes a leading role in the Trade Fair. The Foundation was at hand to display its publications under the banner of the Ministry of Education. |

| Public Service Week 2009 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
This is an annual event that brings together all Government Ministries to showcase their service delivery to the public. This year's event was held between 13th and 15th October 2009 at the COMESA grounds, KICC. Modelled on the UN Public Service Week, it was inaugurated in Kenya in 2006. The Foundation displayed its products and publicized the Scholarship Programme under the banner of the Ministry of Education. |

| COMEDAF IV Conference | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
This is a meeting of ministers of Education from the African Union that took place between 23rd and 26th November 2009 at the Sarova Whitesands, Mombasa. The Foundation had been invited by the ministry of Education to display its educational materials to the delegates. We publicized the Scholarship Programme as well. |
